. i'm eric thomas in for kristen sze. >>> and i'm cheryl jennings. police released new details an hour ago. they responded to a report of a screaming woman after 3:00 this morning. amy hollyfield joins us live. >> reporter: they just told us that the man was armed but they won't say with what. check out the scene behind me. this apartment complex roped off with crime tape police think it will be most of the day. they aren't telling us much because they say they don't want to compromise their investigation. walnut creek police hurried to this complex 3:15 this morning when they heard a woman screaming in the background of a 911 call. >> they confronted one armed subject in an apartment at the complex at 1450 creek side drive. unfortunately, they were forced to shoot that individual. and that individual was pronounced deceased at 9 scene. >> reporter: police won't say what the -- the man was armed with. what he did to cause the officers to shoot or what the 911 call was about they only had this to say when asked why? >> i think it is fair to say they were concerned for their well-being.

at work unplugging drains. we are on storm watch this morning. hi, i'm kristen sze. >>> and i'm cheryl jennings. i was caught in that with thousands when the golden gate bridge was shutdown. katie marzullo was also in that big mess. it was really bad northbound. >> reporter: it was. we were stuck in it as well. take a look now, northbound and southbound traffic on the golden gate bridge moving freely in both directions would have been a sight for sore eyes something commuters this morning probably never thought they would see again as they sat in bumper-to-bumper traffic. video from sky 7 hd if you can see through the thick fog and rain this morning, two white cars in the far right lanes of northbound traffic at vista point, they hit, head-on. miraculously chp says own minor injuries they couldn't tell me how many were injured. they cannot confirm bad weather played a role. you can see how low visibility was and how slick the roads were. now look at the toll on the bridge this is the tallout. this accident happened after -- this is the fallout accident happened after 8:00 this morning

robberies aimed at toll takers on a bay area bridge. good morning i'm kristen sze. >>> and i'm cheryl jennings. highway patrol announced suspects are in custody accused of robbing toll takers on the carquinez bridge. terry mcsweeney joins us live. >> reporter: they just announced three suspects are in custody for the crime spree that began in the fall last year to the spring of this year all suspects from vallejo. this happened carquinez bridge toll chp says the three in custody would drive up to the booths, usually show weapons, demand money and off they would go. complicating the investigation they wore ski masks and driving stolen cars. i asked how they found the suspects? >> it has been a year and a half long investigation. i work with vallejo police and figured out who were the car thiefs in vallejo and figured out who was who and we had evidence and the evidence was submitted and went from there. >> reporter: the three men are 30-year-old chris miller, 43-year-old robert white, 47-year-old david morales, tied to three of the 10 robberies that occurred. the entire 10 robberies ne

services, inc. >>> good morning i'm kristen sze. sheryl is off. the convicted murderer in one of the stunning bay area crimes learned her fate in morning. giselle esteban is going to prison for a long time in the murder of michelle le. >> reporter: the judge gave her 25 years to life in prison then he said to her, i've never seen a case with stnger evidence of premeditation this was a cold blooded murder. no cameras were allowed in the court today for the sentencing. we have file video of giselle esteban from a previous court appearance. she was convicted in october for the murder of michelle le. the two went to high school together. esteban believed le was in a relationship her ex-boyfriend and father of her child. the judge said nowhere did he see a hint of remorse. >> made a great observation, we always felt she felt no remorse. she starred at our family with a blank stare. it was good he pointed that out. >> i want -- -- dank to know how beautiful and incredible michelle was and how much it affected my entire family. we are going to live our lives trying to do without her.

hours. i'm eric thomas, in for kristen sze. >>> and i'm cheryl jennings. a car took off and crashed into a car at 98th and stanley in oakland. >> reporter: we just got the name of the driver of that bmw. he is 34-year-old saint dewan moore he's in custody, he will be facing serious charges for hitting a lincoln that had five inside, one person was killed. chp officers say the driver of this bmw stopped when they pulled him over. as they walked up to his car, he took off and caused a fatal car accident. they don't know why. >> does not appear to be that the bmw was stolen. we are still trying to determine the driver of the bmw fled the scene. >> reporter: he crashed into a lincoln carrying five people. a woman in her 20s was killed. two others were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. >> they were minding their own business and unfortunately in the wrong place at the wrong time, as bet we can tell there was no criminal activity involve -- as best we can tell there was no criminal activity involved in their behave. >> reporter: as they tried to turn left on to 580 the bmw was

-- raising taxes for everyone. good morning i'm kristen sze >>> and i'm cheryl jennings. katie is the news encouraging? >> reporter: more pressure than news about what the deal might be. this was not the big announcement about an agreement on the fiscal cliff. the president did acknowledge there's been progress and he spoke while surrounded by americans who he pointed out cannot afford a tax hike. a source close to the negotiations we know what might be on the table now this current tenty deal. one, as far as tax hikes are involved -- republican and democrats have agreed taxes would not go up for families that make less than $450,000 a year or individuals who make less than $400,000 a year. as far as unemployment benefits that's could be extended. the president mentioned tuition tax credit extended. where there's still a great divide is automatic spending cuts. the deal on table brokered mostly by mcconnell and biden overnight, would delay those spending cuts for three months. some democrats have said they want them delayed one year. >> still issues left to resolve. but we're hopeful that
